Learn to Hunt Program

Learn to Hunt Program

Date(s): Sunday, May 23, 2021
Hours: 12:00 PM
Event: Learn to Hunt Program

Every summer Metro Area Pheasants Forever provides a free opportunity to learn how to spend time in the field hunting safely.  This is an "invitation only" program. The vast majority of students who get to take Learn to Hunt are graduates of our entry-level program: Learn to Shoot.  We do make exceptions depending on the age and experience level of the individual. If you wish to apply you need to talk to Gary Gilbertson, our chief of youth programs. Learn to hunt is a 3 session program, you must attend all three in order to qualify for the hunts. A Minnesota gun safety certificate is required for all participants in Learn to Hunt.

Participants attending and completing both program dates will qualify for a free pheasant hunt at the Minnesota Horse and Hunt Club and the opportunity to spend the day hunting wild pheasants in Marshall, MN with food and hotel lodging provided at no charge.

Participant Requirements: Must have a firearm safety certificate and be 12 – 18 years of age
