Event: Youth Learn to Hunt Program
Every summer, Metro Area Pheasants Forever provides an opportunity to learn how to spend time in the field hunting safely. This is an "invitation only" program. The vast majority of students who get to take Learn to Hunt are graduates of our entry-level program: Learn to Shoot. We do make exceptions depending on the age and experience level of the individual. If you wish to apply, you need to talk to Steve Gnoza, Learn to Hunt director. Learn to hunt is a three-session program; you must attend two out of three in order to qualify for the hunts, but attending all three is highly recommended. A Minnesota gun safety certificate is required for all participants in Learn to Hunt. There are also hunt program videos to watch as part of this class (homework!) You can find these interesting videos on the YOUTH page under the Learn to Hunt description.
Participants attending and completing both program dates will qualify for a free pheasant hunt at the Minnesota Horse and Hunt Club and the opportunity to spend the day hunting wild pheasants in Marshall, MN with food and hotel lodging provided at no charge.
Cost: $30 total / COVID GUIDELINES WILL BE FOLLOWED
Participant Requirements: Must have a firearm safety certificate and be 12 – 18 years of age
