Le Grand, Iowa Woman Wins 2009 Pheasants Forever/Chevy Truck Giveaway - Mar. 30, 2009
Saint Paul, Minn. - March 30 - Pheasants Forever announces Danielle Hotchkin of Le Grand, Iowa as the winner of the 2009 Pheasants Forever/Chevy Truck Giveaway. Hotchkin won a 2009 Chevy Silverado 1500 4WD Extended Cab with a suggested retail value of nearly $35,000 after her Dad purchased her ticket to the Jasper County (Iowa) Chapter PF banquet.

Agriculture Secretary Vilsack Selects Dave White as NRCS Chief - Mar. 24, 2009
Washington, D.C. - March 24 - Agriculture Secretary Thomas J. Vilsack today named Dave White as chief of USDA's Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS). With approximately 12,000 employees and an annual budget in excess of $3 billion NRCS is the nation's leading agency in conserving natural resources on private lands.

Mississippi Longtails PF Hosting Memorial Clay Shoot for MN Build a Wildlife Area - Mar. 19, 2009
Saint Paul, Minn. - March 19 - The Mississippi Longtails Chapter of Pheasants Forever will host the 2nd Annual Randall L. Johnson Memorial Build a Wildlife Area Sporting Clays Shoot on Saturday, March 28th at the South St Paul Rod & Gun Club. The event is open to all interested shooters, and all proceeds will go to Minnesota's Build a Wildlife Area campaign, which helps acquire land for public hunting and outdoor recreation activities.

Lifelong Lincoln Resident Named Pheasants Forever's Western Kansas Representative - Mar. 19, 2009
Lincoln, Kan. - March 19 - Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever announce Devon Walter of Lincoln, Kansas, as the organization's new regional representative for western Kansas. Walter's primary duties with PF/QF will include starting and servicing chapters and members in the region to enhance the organization's wildlife habitat mission.

Sportsmen's Organizations Partner around Grasslands and Prairie Grouse - Mar. 17, 2009
Arlington, Va. - March 17 - Today, the North American Grouse Partnership joined with Pheasants Forever, the Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership, and the Mule Deer Foundation to launch the Prairie Grouse Partners, a new conservation partnership with an aggressive goal of restoring 20 percent of North America's native grasslands. This effort would result in 60 million acres of improved habitat for a wide range of wildlife, including three species of prairie grouse. The announcement was made at the 74th North American Wildlife and Natural Resources Conference, a gathering of the nation's top state, federal, and nonprofit wildlife and natural resource professionals.

DNR unveils new Critical Habitat license plate designs, including pheasant - Mar. 10, 2009
Saint Paul, Minn. - March 10 - Minnesota nature lovers will soon have additional ways to support critical habitat in the state by selecting one of four new-design license plates. The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and the Minnesota Department of Public Safety will choose four plates from among eight different image options with a goal of having them available for purchase later in the year.

Minnesota Pheasants Forever Honors Individual and Chapter Efforts - Feb. 26, 2009
Saint Paul, Minn. - February 26 - Minnesota Pheasants Forever has honored four local PF chapters, one wildlife professional and two organizations instrumental in the passage of The Clean Water, Land & Legacy Amendment with its annual awards. For the second time in six years, the Goodhue County Chapter of PF was recognized as the state PF Chapter of the Year, Minnesota PF's highest honor.

Steele County Chapter of Pheasants Forever Focuses on Youth and the Outdoors - Feb. 26, 2009
Owatonna, Minn. - February 26 - Pheasant hunters and conservationists have formed a new Pheasants Forever chapter in Steele County. The chapter, Minnesota's 77th, is focused on improving wildlife habitat and increasing youth involvement in outdoor activities. The chapter looks forward to working with local agencies and organizations to create a greater awareness of the outdoors in Steele County.

SoDak's Pheasant Country of Mitchell Becomes a Pheasants Forever Chapter - Feb. 25, 2009
Mitchell, SD - February 25 - Pheasants Forever is proud to announce that the 700-member strong organization Pheasant Country, LTD of Mitchell, South Dakota, has converted to a PF chapter and is now known as the Pheasant Country Chapter of PF. The chapter will continue its tradition of holding its annual banquet on the eve of the South Dakota pheasant opener at the World's Only Corn Palace in Mitchell.

Iowa PF Chapter Receives No Child Left Indoors National Award - Feb. 25, 2009
Saint Paul, Minn. - February 25 - Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever recently announced the recipients of the second annual No Child Left Indoors® National Awards. The distinction is presented to one PF chapter and one QF chapter for their efforts in introducing youth to the outdoors and bringing along the next generation of hunters and conservationists. Chapters honored were the Sioux Prairie Chapter of PF based out of Sioux County, Iowa, and the Mid-MO Young Guns Chapter of QF, based out of Macon, Missouri.
