Pheasants Forever, DNR Partner on 477-Acre Addition to Wood Lake WMA - Jun. 17, 2008
The Brown County Chapter of Pheasants Forever (PF) and the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) recently worked in tandem to acquire a 477-acre addition to the Wood Lake Wildlife Management Area (WMA) in Brown County. The new addition is open to the public for outdoor recreational activities and hunting options that include upland game, deer and waterfowl.

Study: Wildlife Refuges Make Up Tax Costs - Jun. 16, 2008
National wildlife refuges more than make up for their cost to taxpayers by returning about $4 in economic activity for every $1 the government spends, according to a federal study released Tuesday.

New North Dakota Pheasants Forever Chapter Forms in Burke and Divide Counties - Jun. 09, 2008
Conservationists and upland hunters in North Dakota's Burke and Divide Counties have formed the state's newest Pheasants Forever (PF) chapter, the Northwest Ringnecks Chapter of PF. The state's 25th PF chapter - already over 40 members strong - is dedicated to habitat improvement that benefits pheasants, upland birds and other wildlife.

Pheasants Forever’s Michigan Convention and Habitat Expo Set for June 21st - May. 30, 2008
Pheasants Forever (PF) announces the 2008 Michigan State Convention and Habitat Expo taking place at the Livingston Conservation District Nature Center in Gregory. Being held on Saturday, June 21, the convention will be followed by the Michigan PF State Banquet and Awards Ceremony at the Brookshire Inn located in nearby Williamston.

Important Days for CRP Ahead - May. 30, 2008
Pheasants Forever (PF) and Quail Forever (QF) have a mix of reactions as a result of the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s announcement to open more than 24 million acres of Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) lands to haying and grazing later this summer. While the move holds some habitat benefits, it does create problems for hunters this fall and sends the wrong message about the value of CRP to America. Also looming is the recurring discussion about “early-outs” from CRP contracts.

Pheasants Forever Reaches Historic Milestone in Illinois - May. 29, 2008
Pheasants Forever (PF) has announced that chapters in Illinois have spent more than $10.5 million dollars on local wildlife habitat and education programs since the first chapter was formed in the state in 1985. The funds have produced more than 261,000 acres of habitat benefits as a result.

Pheasants Forever Amplifies Efforts in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula - May. 29, 2008
Conservationists in Michigan’s Chippewa and Mackinaw Counties have established the Eastern Upper Peninsula Chapter of Pheasants Forever (PF). Chapter leaders hope to improve area wildlife habitat using PF’s unique locally-empowering model. The new Eastern Upper Peninsula Chapter joins the U.P. Bird Hunters Chapter of PF which formed in Rapid River earlier this year to become the U.P.’s first PF chapter.

House, Senate Override Farm Bill Veto - May. 23, 2008
