Kansan Makes $1 Million Pledge to Pheasants Forever - Jun. 02, 2009
Lake Quivira, Kans. - June 02 -
Pheasants Forever (PF) and Quail Forever (QF) announce a $1 million pledge from Duayne Madl, 59, of Lake Quivira, Kansas to PF's Grassroots Conservation Campaign. A Patron Member of PF and a QF member, Madl made the significant financial commitment because of his strong belief in the wildlife habitat conservation mission of PF/QF.

When the clock struck the bewitching hour the Minnesota Legislature called it a year. What a year it was. I can not envy begin to understand the big budget issues and what happened there but I do understand what happened to the Lessard Outdoor Heritage Councils recommendations. My eyes have gotten opened much wider as a result of my participation in the Lessard process. More so than all of the other politicking that I have observed.

Missoula and Omaha Residents Named to PF's National Board of Directors - May. 21, 2009

Pheasants Forever, Inc. and Quail Forever announce Jon Lee of Missoula, Montana and Dick Bell of Omaha, Nebraska have been elected as new members to the organization's National Board of Directors. The 18-member board meets quarterly and oversees the operations of Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever.
Campbell County Conservationists Form New PF Chapter in Wyoming - May. 18, 2009

Hunters and conservationists from Campbell County, Wyoming have formed the state's newest Pheasants Forever chapter, known as the Thunder Basin Chapter of PF. The chapter is dedicated to improving habitat for pheasants and other wildlife, as well as providing ways for youth to become involved in outdoor activities.
Climate Change Bill Provides Funding for Natural Resources, Fish and Wildlife - May. 18, 2009

Members of the Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership (TRCP) Climate Change Working Group, comprised of representatives of leading sportsmen's and conservation groups, praised the efforts of members of the Energy and Commerce Committee in the U.S. House of Representatives to include funding for fish and wildlife adaptation strategies to combat climate change in the American Clean Energy and Security bill (ACES).
Pheasants Forever: Keep CRP off CPR - May. 15, 2009

Recently, the USDA's Farm Service Agency announced that certain landowners would be offered the opportunity to extend their Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) contracts ? which totals 1.5 million acres out of the 3.9 million acres expiring from the program this September. Pheasants Forever (PF) and Quail Forever (QF) were pleased with the announcement, but are anxious for USDA to quickly follow up with an announcement of the next CRP general signup and eligibility criteria for expiring CRP contracts.

PF Names O'Connor Director of Conservation Programs for Iowa - May. 13, 2009

Pheasants Forever, Inc. and Quail Forever announce Matt O'Connor as the organization's new director of conservation programs for the state of Iowa. O'Connor has been with Pheasants Forever since 1990, serving as Pheasants Forever's regional wildlife biologist in northern Iowa until 2004 and most recently as the organization's habitat team coordinator.
PF and TU Present Colorado's Ultimate Nature Experience - May. 11, 2009

Pheasants Forever, Trout Unlimited and the Cal-Wood Education Center have partnered together for a youth weekend in the woods. Located in beautiful Jamestown, Colorado, The Ultimate Nature Experience (T.U.N.E.) camp will be a four-day, action-packed outdoor experience taking place this July 11-14 for youth entering grades 6 through 12.
