TRCP Board Elects New Chair - May. 08, 2009
Washington, D.C. - May 08 -
At its spring meeting, the board of directors of the Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership elected Jim Martin, a longtime TRCP board member and biologist who currently is conservation director of the Berkley Conservation Institute, to chair the organization's board. Howard Vincent, president and CEO of Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever, was elected secretary of the TRCP board.
PF and TU Present Minnesota's Ultimate Nature Experience - May. 07, 2009

Pheasants Forever and Trout Unlimited have partnered together for their second-annual youth weekend in the woods. The Ultimate Nature Experience (T.U.N.E.) camp will be a four-day, action-packed outdoor experience at the Audubon Center of the Northwoods in Sandstone, Minn., this June 19-22.
Ingham County PF Raffling Off One Gun Each Week for Entire Year - May. 05, 2009
East Lansing, Mich. - May 05 -
Starting in August 2009, the Ingham County (Michigan) Chapter of Pheasants Forever will be giving away 52 guns - one per week for an entire year - in an effort to increase funding for the chapter's upland habitat work. Tickets for the raffle are on sale now for $52 each. A maximum of 1,000 tickets will be sold, or one gun for every 19 tickets sold, and only 250 tickets remain!
Ag Sec. Extends Certain CRP Contracts - May. 04, 2009

Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack announced today that USDA's Farm Service Agency (FSA) will offer certain producers the opportunity to modify and extend their Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) contracts that are scheduled to expire on Sept. 30, 2009.

Pheasants Forever has announced its Leopold Education Project's (LEP) 2009 National Conference will be taking place at the Aldo Leopold Legacy Center in Baraboo, Wisconsin this June 25-27. LEP is a national network of educators who work to connect youth and adults to land stewardship and wildlife habitat conservation practices.
Pheasants Forever's Farm Bill Biologist Program Helps Improve Over One Million Acres - Apr. 30, 2009

That's the goal of Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever's Farm Bill Biologist program, a program that has, in just six years of existence, accounted for over one million acres of land being improved for wildlife. With the spring habitat improvement season here, Farm Bill Biologists are on the front line working with more acres and landowners than ever before.
Illinois' Lake County Home to New Pheasants Forever Chapter - Apr. 30, 2009

Hunters and conservationists in northeast Illinois have formed the state's newest Pheasants Forever chapter, known as the Lake County Chapter of PF. The chapter is dedicated to improving local wildlife habitat and to increasing youth participation in outdoor activities.

Panhandle Habitat Work Focus for New Dallas-Fort Worth Pheasants Forever Chapter - Apr. 16, 2009

Upland game enthusiasts from the Dallas-Fort Worth area have formed the region's newest Pheasants Forever (PF) chapter, the DFW Chapter of PF. The new chapter will work with local natural resource agencies and landowners within the 37-county panhandle portion of Texas to improve land management practices for pheasants and other upland birds.
NAGP Receives $68,000 Grant to Support Nebraska Grassland Projects - Apr. 13, 2009

The Nebraska Chapter of the North American Grouse Partnership (NAGP) was awarded a $68,000 grant by the Nebraska Environmental Trust last week to help landowners restore and manage grassland habitat to benefit greater prairie chickens in southwest Nebraska's Sandsage Prairie.
