This year our chapter will collaborate with Clays for a Cause to raise funds for the James Meger Memorial WMA near Marshall, MN. The organization Clays for a Cause started as a group of Minneapolis women who shoot together on a sporting clays team. Founder and current president Kristi Backer Palmer describes their beginning this way: “It all began as a project in a personal and professional development training program in which I am involved. Our assignment was to create a service project. Chris and I had just been hunting in ND and the county we normally hunt in had lost over 11,000 acres of CRP and public hunting land in the last year to crops. Currently, the public land available for hunting in MN is also limited and declining due to farming bills where CRP is being changed to cropland.
